Optoma Releases the First DLP LED Pico Projector PK-101

Optoma has announced the release of the first DLP based LED pico projector the PK-101 available from early November November 2008

Amber Technology is pleased to announce the release of Optoma's new Pico projector. Smaller & lighter than a mobile phone, it is the world's first commercial DLP Pico projector.

"The Pico Projector is the next step in sharing visual media for today's ultra-mobile consumers. Fitting in your shirt pocket, the Pico Projector can display content from a media player or smart phone," said Rod Sommerich, National Product Manager for Amber Technology display division, "Optoma's new PK-101 creates a benchmark for sharing content-on-the-go."

"This Pico projector enables users to enjoy a better visual experience with an image that is up to 100 times larger than the small screen of output capable portable media devices including iPods, PDA's, smart phones and digital cameras."

The tiny projector was demonstrated at Infocomm USA connected to an iPod playing slides and video content. Consumers have been waiting for this technology to allow truly portable images for use anywhere.  The Optoma pico projector will be available in Australia November.
