All three models feature long-throw 8” carbon fiber cones that deliver the deep, powerful bass more commonly found in free-standing audiophile speakers. Resonances are minimized by 3⁄4” MDF baffles (on X8W and X8WS models) and cast aluminum baskets (all models), so bass remains clear, without any “boominess”.
All three Woofer models are powered by a Sonamp® A800 amplifier (available separately) that delivers 150 watts of power. The amplifier provides flexible connections for easy integration into any audio system. Front-panel volume, crossover and phase controls allow the woofer’s performance to be fine-tuned for a variety of listening environments and personal preferences.
Each Woofer model requires the installation of an Architectural Series Panel Bracket (available separately). All three Architectural Series Woofers can be used with any style Architectural Series Finish Component — metal (with or without trim) or cloth (with or without trim). Architectural Series Finish Components are available separately.
