Product Feature paragraphs
Main Features
Supports High-Resolution Recording and Playback
Supports high-resolution recording and playback up to 96 kHz/24-bit using SD cards and USB flash drives. Compatible with SDXC cards and USB flash drives up to 512 GB, enabling flexible media operation for applications such as long-duration recording and playback of large-capacity content.

Efficient and Secure File Management Over a Network
Equipped with a LAN port, the SS-R300N supports uploading and downloading of recording and playback files via FTPS client and SFTP server/client functions. Files can be transferred securely and directly between the unit and a server, enabling efficient file management without removing the SD card. It also supports an auto-upload function that automatically transfers recorded data to a designated server.

Supports Diverse External Control Options and Seamless System Integration
The SS-R300N is equipped with multiple external control interfaces, including Ethernet (RJ-45), RS-232C serial (D-sub 9-pin), and parallel (D-sub 25-pin) connections. It also supports the Open Sound Control (OSC) protocol which enables seamless integration with a wide range of devices, including DAWs, lighting systems, and video systems. In addition, compatibility with the previous SS-R250N and SS-CDR250N models is maintained, allowing smooth system upgrades while preserving existing media assets and operating environments.

Comprehensive I/O Connectivity for Professional Audio Systems
The SS-R300N is equipped with XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced analog I/O, as well as AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital I/O. It can be connected to a wide range of professional audio equipment, including mixer. Using the appropriate audio format, the SS-R300N allows for flexible integration into existing sound systems.

Seamless Integration into Dante-Enabled Systems
By installing the optional IF-DA2 interface card, the SS-R300N can be connected to Dante networked audio systems. It can be easily integrated into existing Dante environments, enabling flexible system design and deployment through the use of networked audio.

Q-SYS Control
Using the plugin available through Q-SYS Designer Software, users can control the SS-R300N over a network from the Q-SYS User Control Interface (UCI). Functions include transport control such as record start/stop, file renaming, audio source selection, folder and file selection, file uploads to an FTP server, and automatic deletion of uploaded files from the unit’s media after upload. This enables seamless integration with the Q-SYS platform, which is widely used across a broad range of applications, including corporate, education, hospitality, live events, cinema, government, healthcare, and transportation environments.

Offline Editing of Playlists and Timer Event Lists
With the dedicated TASCAM Playlist Editor software, playlists and timer event lists can be created and edited on a computer. The software also supports conversion of MP3 and AAC files to WAV format, as well as sample rate and bit depth conversion of WAV files, helping streamline content preparation and system setup before deployment.

Support for External CD Drives and Multiple Audio Formats
By connecting a compatible third-partyn external USB CD drive, the SS-R300N can play audio CDs. It also supports AAC file playback, providing flexible audio operation across a variety of audio source formats.

Customizable Operation to Suit Different Applications
The SS-R300N features four USER buttons on the front panel, allowing frequently used functions to be assigned as desired. It also supports function assignment for the PARALLEL I/O (external control I/O), enabling a flexible operating environment tailored to specific applications and system requirements

Additional Features/Carousel Content
Backup and Relay Recording Support
Any two media can be selected from a total of three storage options, consisting of two SD cards and one USB flash drive for backup or relay recording. Backup recording simultaneously records identical data to two media, reducing the risk of data loss. Relay recording automatically switches to the next medium when the current one becomes full, preventing interruptions caused by media replacement and providing flexible support for long-duration recording applications such as conferences, lectures, and events.

Comprehensive Recording Assist and Data Protection Features
The SS-R300N is equipped with a wide range of recording functions, including pre-recording, sync recording, direct recording, and auto track. These features help prevent missed recordings and improve post-recording workflow efficiency. In addition, automatic file closure minimizes the risk of data loss in the event of an unexpected power interruption. Automatic marks can also be added when overloads or errors occur, simplifying post-recording review.

Analog Output Mute During Recording
The SS-R300N features an analog output mute function that automatically mutes the analog outputs during recording. This prevents unwanted amplification of input audio and reduces the risk of howling and feedback. It enables a safer and more flexible recording environment, even in standalone operation or simple system configurations.

Flexible Audio Operation with Versatile Playback Functions
The SS-R300N offers a wide range of playback functions, including single, program, random, repeat, and A-B repeat playback, as well as auto cue, auto ready, incremental play, and fade-in/fade-out playback, enabling flexible audio operation for a variety of applications.

Support for Flash Play and Backup Playback Systems
Flash Load and Flash Start functions enable Flash Play operation for quick playback of required audio content. When used with the optional RC-SS150 remote control unit, up to 96 audio files can be assigned for Flash Play operation. In addition, a backup playback system can be configured through linked playback between two units.

Automated Operation with Timer Events
The SS-R300N features timer event functions that automatically execute operations such as recording, playback, and file transfer at scheduled times. In addition to network-based time synchronization via the SNTP client function, the internal clock can also be corrected using trigger input from an external timer unit. This ensures stable automated operation with accurate time management, even in environments where network connectivity is restricted.

Transport Button Illumination for Improved Operation in Low-Light Environments
The transport buttons can remain dimly illuminated even when the unit is not being operated, making it easy to locate them in low-light environments such as live sound, event PA, halls, and theaters. This improves visibility and supports reliable, smooth operation.
