For extreme “weather warning” conditions an optional Windjammer allows previously impossible recordings. Cyclone uses Lyre® microphone suspension to reduce the bulk of shock and handling noise. Reduced room-tone effects that characterise conventional tubular designs. Also, using Rycote’s Lyre Technology®, this clever suspension design enables the suspensions to snap in place quickly to attain the perfect position and balance for the microphone. Providing lightning-fast wind protection, the Softie is designed for modern day ENG and location recording. Specially designed acoustic foam and synthetic fur achieve up to 25 dB of wind-noise reduction without any adverse effect on high frequencies. While protecting the mic, the specialty foam is impervious to UV and moisture damage making this a trusted tool for years of effective use in the harshest environments. Softie windshields are available in a large range of sizes to fit most popular shotgun microphones. Perfect for short microphones, the BBG Windshield is suitable for low-profile boom applications as well as for use in hand-held operations and interviews. Designed to accommodate not only cylindrical microphones, it also accommodates microphones with bulbous windscreens where the maximum head diameter is 80 mm.

Rycote understands that capturing high-quality audio with lavalier microphones can be an art-form depending on the needs of the application. That is why we have designed a line of products for lavaliers using our signature wind and noise protection for the best possible audio in various low-profile and hidden mic applications. Mini Windjammer are offering excellent, effective protection against wind noise, the standard Mini Windjammer are easy-to-fit slip-on fur covers for use when recording outside with the built-in microphones found on portable cameras, external camera mics and handheld reporter microphones. Some have 10 mm fur, while others have 25 mm Softie fur for use in more unsettled conditions, and can be fitted to a wide variety of devices.
