Optoma, a leading designer and manufacturer of projection and audio solutions, has released the HDCast Pro 1080p multimedia streaming device ideal for use in a variety of applications at home or the office.

Capable of wirelessly streaming 1080p video formats up to a distance of 10 metres in any room, the HDCast Pro offers Full High Definition (HD) image quality without the mess of cables running across a room. With the ability to project a four-in-one split screen, the HDCast Pro is perfect for a variety of visual presentations whether it’s in a lecture hall, public speaking event or social occasion.

The HDCast Pro simply plugs into the HDMI port on any projector or television, making it easy to wirelessly stream audio visual content, documents or websites directly from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. With instant plug and play viewing, the HDCast Pro can be set up almost immediately, instantly giving users a cinema-sized experience from content that would otherwise have to be viewed on the small screens of portable devices. As well as being able to stream multiple file formats from mobile and computing devices, cameras, and cloud video and storage, the HDCast Pro has web browsing features, and is compatible with Apple’s AirPlay wireless technology to mirror what’s on use on an Apple mobile device or Mac computer.Support for cloud video means users can enjoy superior quality content from YouTube, Vimeo, TED, and other online video streaming services. Files can also be accessed from Dropbox, Google Drive and other cloud storage services.

The HDCast Pro also works with the Miracast wireless streaming technology for Android devices, the Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) wireless mobile video and audio interface standard to turn a projector or TV into a smart display. Support for the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) standard lets users access multimedia content stored on a home network. The Optoma HDCast Pro app - available to download free from the Apple App and Google Play stores - transforms any smart device into a remote control.
