How do av cables work?

AV cables can be of various types, depending on the number of sound channels, how many video channels and the number of control signals. How to connect AV cables? 

If you look at AV input cables, they are usually colour-coded: red is for the right audio channel, yellow is for the composite video, and white or black is for the left channel of stereo audio. This trio of jacks are generally found at the back of your audio and video equipment, such as home projectors, data projectors, tv, and recording equipment. 

Make sure that all colours are matching and the cables are connected tightly. Remember, video and audio signs use different frequencies, so a video cable will not work on sound, and vice versa. Many people confuse AV cables with connectors, although in reality, the latter has a specific purpose--to join two or more cables together or connect it to a device.
